The greeting lady
At Walmart
Smiled and wanted to know if
I had forgotten
My Roebuckers!
I am here to tell you
That age has it’s own unique
Set of problems,
But to forget one’s teeth
Is humiliating,
It is disgusting and it is stupid.
Finally it is definitely the last straw
Before resigning from
 The whole damn human race

I am guilty!
Believe it or not,
I gummed my way right up
To the old lady
Looking for toothpaste.
Of all things.
I still have one tooth in my head.
That is when she came out
With the Roebucker comment.
She was very rude
By her correction;
You mean denture cleaner, huh?
With front lips full of tongue
I smiled!
