NINE ELEVEN
The average citizen is back to their regular routine of doing things as usual. We are satisfied to become a part of the latest positive poll showing that getting rid of the terrorists is the job of the Commander in Chief.
Church attendance is back to normal now – less than fifty percent. Our brand new flags are dirty, frayed or forgotten. Congressmen are only concerned that crooked corporate executives will tell everyone they were bribed. Families are more concerned about the football coach at their son’s college than they are about his education. The news media is more concerned about the word nigger than they are about the war on terrorists.
President Bush is kind of like the new ideal preacher a church recently hired. He is expected to do the things necessary to maintain their collective faith, do all their praying, visiting the sick and dying, the old and the infirm, the young and disobedient, evangelize and all the other duties a congregation can dream up.
Does the new preacher or the Commander in Chief really expect us to do the things they are asking. We hired them to do that!
What’s this thing about sins of omission?
Mankind is somewhat an enigma that reluctantly but overwhelmingly understands that a God of goodness is sovereign over all that exists, whether it be good or evil and that His will and His will alone, will ultimately prevail.
Basically, the dogma of the major religions of this world teach this goodness along with various degrees of moral and ethical behavior, to a major portion of the entire population of the whole world.
World order is innately set up within a triune system of family, religion and government. This thing called God, an entity that we recognize through faith, hope and love, is necessarily a part of this world order.
When any or all of this triune formulation of world order fails to obey this God of goodness, has no respect, or deny His existence, they fail their God and themselves in this progression of faith. This can and does result in a form of evil and terror that goes beyond belief. A demonic sect of evil beings that cannot tell the difference between right and wrong then becomes hell bent on dominating the rest of the world. The World Towers Center disaster, of 9/11/01 is the latest example.
We will win this First War on Terrorists. Of that I am sure. Thanks to a president that understands the evil of these terrorists must be anticipated and that they must be destroyed. Justification of this destruction is necessarily the result of mortality itself!
What scares the hell out of me is the fact that we have become a shallow people and are symptomatic of the same disease of evil that overcame our present enemies. Take a look at our families, our churches and our government.
Most mothers work, not because they have to, but because both parents place more value upon the many material things they desire in lieu of the moral, ethical and religious values that must be taught in first five years of a child’s life. These are the formative years when a child learns the difference between right and wrong. Most parents have no idea what their children are really being taught, morally, ethically and religiously in day care centers throughout this country. If it is state sponsored we know these qualities are not taught. Then we wring our hands and wonder why our children are shooting each other.
A recent survey indicates that less than eighteen percent of our parents take their children to church school or Sunday school or a formal worship service. Imagine, eighty-three percent of our children are deprived of religious or formal instructions of what is right and what is wrong.
Our religious institutions have forgotten their intended purposes. They are somewhat similar to the other aspects of our culture inasmuch as the immoral, amoral and unethical sins of an evil society have permeated their midst. The leaders of these organized religious institutions are vying for control instead of seeking and expanding the truth of a divine progression of faith, hope and love.
The necessary rules of conduct and the discipline required for a civilized society and world order like the Ten Commandments and the golden rule wanes as the religious institutions become separate entities unto themselves as professionals gain more and more control.
In the meantime our federal government is working overtime to become wholly and completely a secular form of socialism devoid of any recognition of this thing called God.
These are just a few examples of the evils that plague mankind in an attempt to destroy this joint venture with God and man; this progression of faith, hope and love.
Aren’t these similar sins of omission symptomatic of the exact same mindset that is producing our present day reign of terror?
