AND TO THE REPUBLIC
“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the REPUBLIC for which it stands . . .”
How many of us repeat these words year after year and go on our merry way with the misguided opinion that we are living under a democracy? Please, my fellow citizens, get this through your head; by adopting the United States Constitution our founding fathers gave us a republic. A republic and a democracy is not the same thing not by any means, even though a republic usually abides by many democratic principles.
I guess the best way to explain our situation is that we do not vote for legislation. We elect representatives and these representatives vote on legislation. If we don’t like the way they are doing things, then we don’t re-elect them. In a republic the head of state is usually a president.
The Constitution allows our republic to be represented by three branches of government. The Executive branch of our republic is headed by a duly elected president, the Legislative branch is represented by the House of Representatives and the Senate and the Judicial by our courts of law.
I am fully convinced that our Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States are documents of divine inspiration second only to the Holy Bible in importance to the freedom of mankind! I further believe that the Christian principles that the aforementioned documents are based upon is the only means by which we can survive as free men!
Our founding fathers never intended that the elected representatives become lifetime professionals. Today, it is a matter of fact, that we the people of the United States of America are ruled by the few. These few are professional politicians and their actions are designed and carefully arranged in an endless barrage of rhetoric so their effectiveness as a legislator can easily be camouflaged by public apathy and public ignorance!
The average citizen of this nation, by and large does not know what is going on; not only that, they just don’t give a damn!
We truly have become, during my lifetime, a pathetic and irresponsible bunch of people. The three basic institutions that governs our lives; the church, the family and the government have all gone awry thereby forgetting their intended purposes and have became separate entities unto themselves. We are in trouble!
You don’t believe me? The fact is that within my lifetime the family has abdicated the primary responsibility of supporting and educating their children. They have turned these things over to a government that have convinced them that the professionals on the government payroll know what is best for them.
These professionals have ruled that we are a secular type government, worldly rather than spiritual and not related to religion whatsoever even though we have our Constitution that guarantees every citizen freedom of religion. Freedom of religion is the main reason for its existence.
Family discipline is shot to hell. My mother and father would have wound up under the jail had the idiotic laws been in force during my childhood. The discipline of all these institutions are now a thing of the past. Every sane head of every family household should hang their head in shame for permitting our government to gradually steal our rights and freedoms. Is it not irresponsible and pathetic when we permit the encroachment of the liberal professionals to micro-manage our lives in such a way?
The lay people of our Christian churches have abdicated their responsibility as disciples of Christ. Again, within my lifetime we have gone out and hired professional clergymen to do our job for us. In most of our modern day mainline Protestant churches the criteria for a minister of the gospel is that he or she must have a college degree of theology or degree from reputable seminary of some sort. Very little thought is given to the ancient idea; was he or she called to preach?
We seem unable to rejoice in the Lord inasmuch as we seem to need and require a college-bred professional to advise us of what we are permitted to rejoice and sing about.
We are unable to minister unto our youth unless we have another professional with a diploma to tell us what we should do.
Jesus Christ and his apostles went out into the sands of the mid-eastern countries to preach the gospel with the clothes on their back, sandals on their feet and with the faith of an almighty God in their hearts. Our professionals stand before us each every Sunday morning urging us to be more Christ-like! Isn’t there a touch of hypocrisy somewhere?
Our professionals visit the maimed, the sick and dying in our hospital and nursing homes. They do most of the visiting within the homes of our neighborhoods. This is what they are hired to do!
We are long on prayer but short on action. Do you see anybody you know here?
As Christians and citizens aren’t we sheepskin happy, a pathetic and irresponsible lot, or what?
It is now a known fact that the many are ruled by the few and the professional politicians
are now doing the ruling. So in the meantime let us deal with the subject of public ignorance and apathy of the citizens of this country.
I just read in the paper the other day and it was reported that 80percent of the seniors from the top 55 percent of colleges and universities, including Harvard and Princeton, scored a D or F on an American history test. The people that done this study said that 99 percent of the students could identify Beavis and Butt-head but only 23 percent of the students could identify James Madison as the principal framer of our Constitution!
Another report offered this startling report; less than 5 percent of our citizens under the age of fifty years has ever read either the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution of the United States. Over 50 years of age the percentage goes up drastically to just over 51 percent. Did something happened around 1950? The NEA perhaps?
Is it any wonder that the professional politicians of all parties are pandering to public ignorance with their private “spins” and rhetoric with promises of give away programs with the taxpayer’s money!
We are now turning our youth loose without an inkling of our own history and they don’t seem to care. Getting a good rounded education is very hard work. Our college system of education used train our future leaders but most of them are now white-collar, vocational and technical institutions. Most of our youth would rather pass on the principles and philosophy of government necessary for leadership or for that matter the minimum requirements of good citizenship!
Public apathy then becomes their favorite past time!
Visit any state in this nation and ask a group of ordinary citizens; who is your governor, your senators or your representatives. Less than 10 percent can tell you. The favorite answer is “Who gives a damn; all those professional politicians are just alike.” The pathetic thing is that they are right!
The art of conversation is dead as a doornail!
In essence we have also turned this over to the professionals. When have you accepted or for that matter extended an invitation to a friend, a relative, a neighbor or an acquaintance
to sit down and enjoy a good meal while talking about the principles of philosophy to ensure ourselves and our children the best moral values to enhance all our lives? And after the meal was over, when have you continued the art of conversation long into the night rather than rushing back home to your TV for fear that you would miss your latest sports program, Oprah Winfrey, Martha Stewart, Rosie O’Donnell or James Dobson?
These TV personalities, along with the liberal elite pundits of the national TV news media, radio and of late the written press are laughing all the way to the bank as they dictate our every move. This is accomplished by public ignorance and public apathy by the use of political correctness and our new religion postmodernism (see my article on Political Correctness/Postmodernism)!
All branches of our federal government are now shot to hell and in order to make my message clear I must repeat myself. Barney’s Law of Institutionality has never been more accurate than when he says that all our government institutions, federal, state and local have became separate entities unto themselves thereby perpetuating their own image and have forgotten their intended purposes!
Someone once said, “all politics are local!” How true!
Some 224 years ago some 56 brave, moral and courageous men much wiser than I pledged and placed their reputations, their honor, their fortunes, their families and their very lives on the line and signed The Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 by declaring:
“We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. - - That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, - - That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and Happiness. . . . . . .”
Where should we go from here?
What would it take to repair the damage done to our Constitution by an amoral political genius by the name of William Jefferson Clinton and another amoral politician his hero Franklin Delano Roosevelt? Not to mention the nine fairly moral presidents in between with mediocre political savvy who aided and abetted in the fruition of the evolving science of political correctness and our new religion postmodernism. Or is the damage beyond repair?
Anyone in their right mind must be aware that you need not be a lawyer or a judge to comprehend the meaning of the words of the First Amendment to our U. S. Constitution. These words are in themselves a lesson in common sense. If you can read the basic English language, you can understand this stuff! It plainly says, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” What could be plainer than that? This simply means that Congress is forbidden to legislate any law whatsoever about this subject; any law WHATSOEVER!
Would anyone be so naïve as to believe that we do not have a secular government, worldly rather than spiritual and by law, many of our religious rights now are prohibited!
The disciples of political correctness/postmodernism are bombarding an ignorant and apathetic public, “You are really too dumb to figure out what our Constitution means. So let us, the professional experts do your thinking for you and it will be a better world!”
We bought the lie. We are now reaping a whirlwind!
Everywhere throughout our nation the people are crying out for leadership, especially from out public elected servants in the federal government. Our president, vice-president, presidential wannabees, congressmen and senators are standing before us almost daily, in living color, via the TV news media crying out to a distant God to draw near and give us an answer as to why our children are killing each other wholesale!
Most sane individuals realize that the reasons are many and varied but the basic answer to this cry by our leaders is that we have simply failed to teach our children the difference between right and wrong!
Let us keep in mind the following quote of the most famous of our founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson:
“I consider the government of the United States as interdicted from inter-meddling with religious institutions, their doctrines, discipline, or exercises. This results from the provision that no law shall be made respecting the establishment of religion or the free exercise thereof, but also from that which reserves to the states the power not delegated to the United States. Certainly no power over religious discipline has been delegated to the general government. It must thus rest with the states as far as it can be in any human authority.”
The greatest miscarriage of justice perpetuated upon the American people is the extent that liberal jurists on the Supreme Court have gone to rewrite history in support of their preconceived notions that federalized big brother government is the answer to our material and moral needs.
In direct conflict with the First Amendment which is a prohibition against governmental interference in such matters, these misguided leftist justices themselves performed an unconstitutional act and in so doing created a bogus “wall of separation” between church and state.
The founding fathers knew the meritorious moral rewards that could be harvested with the diversity of our religious faiths and their institutions. Their intent was to join these two forces into a loose knit coalition in the best interest of the citizenry of this great land.
This can still be accomplished! What misguided men have put together, men with good intentions can undo and re-establish workable solutions.
When dealing with the minds and hearts of each independent citizen of this nation the founding fathers knew that there should be little or no interference upon this very private freedom guaranteed under our constitution. The controlling factor in the church should lie with the members of that particular body. The controlling factor in the schools should be limited to each individual community and the responsible citizens residing therein. Each time we interfere with this concept we dilute the freedom of the individual!
The brainwashing of the American people is nearing completion. The liberal politicians, aided and abetted by the secular jurist of the Supreme Court of the United States and the disciples of political correctness/postmodernism have successfully convinced the people that our liberties stem from worldly rather than spiritually inspired thought and reasoning.
These same people have also been successful with their propaganda in implanting into the minds of the citizens of this country that our nation is in peril as a result of religious absolutes practiced by people of all faiths.
Then there is the really BIG LIE! This lie is repeated over and over and over; that the Bill or Rights created a “wall of separation" between religion and our public institutions!
Nothing could be further from the truth than these misconceptions. Our Constitution is a written instrument of divine thought and inspiration. Just read it!
The religious absolutes of all faiths are something that we as individuals impose upon ourselves voluntarily and in actuality and practice they are an enhancement rather than an endangerment!
The intent of the founding fathers in the very first line in the Bill of Rights was meant to create an “atmosphere of cooperation” between the religions and our public institutions.
Historically and conceptually our liberties and our institutions are direct products of our religious faith. Without it we cannot exist!
How would you like to live in a land where there were no Bibles; no Torahs; no religious instruction? Are you so naïve as to believe that presently any State run institution of learning will teach our children the basic moral concepts and principles so they may determine the difference between right and wrong?
The hardest thing for us to do is to look upon the innocent face of a newly born baby and recognize the potential for evil that lurks within this new miracle of life! We simply refuse to see and comprehend the awesome responsibility that we, as parents, have when
we bring a child into this world. We tend to resist and ignore the wisdom of the ages; that our children must be disciplined and taught to nurture the good and reject the evil that is present within each human soul.
These same basic truths are found in the tenets of all major religions. They are as necessary to life as bread and water. Without divine guidance, tempered with the wisdom of ancient forefathers any child is capable of the most heinous of crimes. These ticking time bombs can and will explode!
The time has come to return to the basic moral principles and ethics intended by our forefathers and passed down to us through a written document divinely inspired, the Constitution of the United States.
We want to repudiate and for all time silence the liberal opposition and yes, the evil voices, designed to deprive us of our individual liberties and to rob us of our heritage!
We want to replace the “wall of separation” with an “atmosphere of cooperation” concerning The Bill of Rights……..especially the first line in the First Amendment.
It is our desire that every citizen will somehow, reach way down inside their self and tell the professional politicians. “Enough already! Our own individual God has given us a wonderful mind and heart to think with and we are capable of doing just that! We will think for ourselves and we can understand the basic truths of our own constitution!”
Nine justices sit on the U. S. Supreme Court. These justices are appointed by the President of the United States with the advise and consent of the Senate. The utmost question in our minds when we go to the polls in the next presidential election should be. “Who will this person appoint to the Supreme Court?” This action taken by the next president will directly affect our lives more than any other he or she will ever take during his or her term!
Our task is not an impossibility! People of faith have and will join together and speak as one voice when they recognize a common enemy. We have been under siege for a long time and our enemies have been identified. By their folly, we have learned the hard way that the sins of the fathers are truly visited upon our children.
Each morning our children walk out the door of their home into harms way. They go to school. They are subject to face a fanatical child that does not know the difference between right and wrong. We know the results!
The liberal agencies of our Federal Government and private establishments will fight tooth and toenail to retain their control so they may continue to micro-manage our lives from the cradle to the grave!
We also realize that the liberal establishments of this nation, governmental and private, are elitist. These people actually believe they are better than you and I! They have some sort of inborn and an abnormal desire to meddle into and disrupt the lives of the average American citizen. They actually think that we are too stupid to take care of ourselves!
Look back! Over the past thirty or forty years; where have these liberal intrusions and social engineering led us? Are we now any more or any less moral? Is our faith weaker or stronger? Do we follow a prescribed standard of conduct for a civilized society? Do we expect to suffer the consequences of our wrong doings? Have we traded our liberties away one by one in exchange for false security? Have we come to the point where we let the professionals, political and otherwise, do our thinking for us? Are we really going to hell in a hand basket?
We have been on a long journey into amorality and we are just now reaching the point of no return. We either, at this time, turn back while there is still time or we proceed along this path into a nightmare of mind control and absolute domination by forces beyond our control. It is that simple!
The moral failures of the New Deal, the Fair Deal and the Great Society; social experiments that places millions of our citizens into a position of dependency is evil even in its mildest form. In actuality, it is a form of slavery.
The liberal elitist are fighting back! In their web page Separation of Church and State Home Page they answer their own question as to why they created this page. They say: It used to be that advocates of church/state separation could be confident that challenges to the First Amendment would be resolved in their favor. No longer! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - We can no longer depend on the Supreme Court to rule in our favor. One more anti-separationist Justice, and the state/church separation could be a thing of the past. It is time for a call to arms!
Get real folks! Freedom will only work when we pledge our allegiances and responsibilities to our God, our family, our county, our state, our nation and in that order!
